Choose a bag

Start with the load.

Lay out the items that go with you on an ordinary day. A folder and lunch container tell you more about the needed space than a broad age label does. Check the current dimensions of the exact bag you like.

For school.

For younger children, try the bag with their usual jacket on. Look for adjustable straps and enough space for the school’s actual folder size. A coordinated set can keep lunch and pencils separate, but confirm which pieces are included in the selected option.

For lunch.

Measure the food container you use most. Leave room for an ice pack when the meal needs to stay cool. An insulated bag helps with packing, but food safety depends on the food, temperature and time away from refrigeration.

For the beach or an event.

Mesh makes contents easy to see and helps sand escape. Clear bags can be useful for events, but each venue sets its own size and material rules. Check those rules before you order. Keep phones and other valuables inside a protective pouch.
